A Quick User's Guide to Bet Mishpachah at the DCJCC
On March 30, 1997, the congregation moved to its home at the District of
Columbia Jewish Community Center ("DCJCC"), 16th and Q Streets NW, Washington, D.C.
Here is a quick user's guide to the DCJCC:
- Weekly Shabbat worship is held in the DCJCC Kay Community Hall. This will be on your right as you enter through the Q Street door.
You will have to be buzzed in, but our shammas will staff the door.
- The DCJCC has a parking lot on the east side of the building (20 spaces).
- The DCJCC is very easy to get to from Dupont Circle station on Metrorail's Red Line. Use the
North exit from the station (Q Street). When you get to the top of the escalators, you will be at the corner of 20th
and Q Streets. Turn right at the top of the escalators and walk east on Q Street to the DCJCC, which is at the corner of 16th and Q.
- Metrobuses S2 and S4 run north and south on 16th Street and stop in front of the building.
Metrobus G2 runs east and west on P Street and stops one block south of the building. The bus schedules linked from
this page require the Adobe Acrobat reader, which is a free download.
- For more detailed information, click on the PLAN ROUTE, below, for door-to-door directions
on Metro from your home or other location to the DCJCC.
- The DCJCC maintains a strict kashrut policy. We can bring food into the building,
but we suggest dairy or vegetarian. If you are sponsoring an Oneg Shabbat or planning an event where food is to be served,
please contact the Oneg Coordinators at oneg@betmish.org and leave your name and phone number so the Oneg Coordinators can contact you.
- The DCJCC's kosher Center City Cafe is located in the building's Q Street lobby, adjacent
to where we have our Oneg Shabbats. We respect the Center City Cafe's kashrut policy by not bringing our food into the
Center City Cafe seating area.
- The DCJCC offers reduced membership rates for Bet Mishpachah members. Click here for details.
